Third day at Your Majesty and I’m loving it. I got right into a project my first day and with three internal reviews we delivered some pieces to the client today. It feels really good to design, and I’m happy I took this opportunity. Thank you James and Jens.

I will try to describe my day. The first day at Tronic and my 7-month internship. I don’t really know where to begin, it’s been an amazing day. The feeling I have now, sitting at home is wonderful. I feel happy and I can’t stop smiling.
I came to Tronic a little before 11am, met Jesse, co-founder of Tronic, and said hi to the people that was already there. I got a desk and while waiting for the guy who would tell me more about Tronic I talked to two people that I’ll work with pretty closely. After these first 15 minutes I already felt pretty good. And the rest of the day only made that feeling stronger.
After lunch I met Vivian (also co-founder) and we talked about my role at Tronic. I will work at Tronic, but I will also work with GoldRun which is a mobile platform using augmented reality for brands.
The rest of the day I got my email address, access to the server and all the files, and I started to work. I researched a bunch of cool and very inspiring motion designers and their art/animations whom I’ll include in this first project. I can’t wait for my next day and to see all the people again. (I’m gonna look for apartments tomorrow, so it will be on Wednesday.)

I started this project last week and now it’s done. “So Far Away” is where my thoughts been lately. But now I’m back on track, I know what I want to do, and I’m more focused than ever before.

I made three small and fast 3D models before the summer, but now I wanted to try something different (read: more challenging). So instead of a square clock or an iPod, I decided to try and model my Dunny. It is really fun and super challenging. I have already re-modeled the body three times, and I think the might be more of them. But I’m learning so much and I really enjoy it.

There is always something going on at Båtsman, people working on briefs, personal project, watching movies, or playing video games. But last night some students saved a baby bunny from a cat and took it inside. So cute, super scared. (Yes, they did let it out again.)

Puma – Clever Little Bag by the agency Fuseproject. I think it is a really cool idea, but I also love the movie made by Droga5. When I see a case study like this I want to work with motion.
I’m working on my website right now, where I want to include some of my old print projects but show them as case studies. So this will definitely be one of the movies I’ll be having in mind.

The project for Lill-Skansen is now over and today we had an evaluation and a process follow up. It feels like we have worked together for a really long time, bet it actually only is for three days (where the third day was presentation/pitch). So to say the least it has been fun, stressful, frustrating, interesting, and I have learned a lot.

I just had my worst day at Hyper Island. I haven’t really accomplished anything today, due to stress, pressure, high expectations, and frustration. I have never felt like this or have had a day like this before. Very strange, and not at all a good timing since we are to present our concept/strategy for the client tomorrow.
I worked on a mock-up for a website, which I later realized was kind of unnecessary because we are to present a concept and not design. I learned stepping out of the comfort zone also means the routines and not only roles. Like it is okay not to design, and focus on text and research instead and the presentation will still be good.

I’m back in Karlskrona, at my place just relaxing. I realize that I’ve only been away for one day, but it feels longer. Left Friday at 7:35pm and came back here around 5ish today. These kinds of weekends I like. I only had one thing planed for this weekend and that was the Open House at Hyper Island yesterday. I didn’t think I would have that much time to see my friend, who I stayed with, but as it turned out we hung out a lot. And she met some of my friends from Hyper Island.
Since I have moved around (Sweden – San Francisco – San Diego – New York – Sweden) the past years I feel that I have groups of friends in different places. So when I have the chance to include one friend into another groups of friends I feel very happy. And that is what happened this weekend. It’s like I’m connecting my own dots.
So yes, this have been a great weekend. And I think it’s been good for me not to think about my own projects for these days, since I now have a new focus to put into them.

I got more news. Or I can’t really say what it is yet, except that I’m super excited about it. Here is one sneak peak though:
“so ran it initially by some of the folks here and they are pretty into this idea. gotta confirm with legal next and i’ll let ya guys know. i’m thinking could be really beneficial for all parties. may even have a -super- cool project coming up”
I will know in about a week…

Now module, The Project Life Cycle, just started and I got a new group and a new brief. This time the brief is from a real client and I’m very excited about this. In my group we are six people: Petter Andersson, Lina Säfström, Pelle Kjellqvist, Paweł Zwoliński, Tobias Bergström, and I. And the client we are working with is World Food Programme.
The more research I do the more impressed and amazed I get over the work of WFP, and sad over the whole situation. I realize that there isn’t so much I have to do to actually help, and that makes me want to do more. This is exactly what I’ll be working on for the next three weeks: to make people aware!

It’s Sunday and midnight, and I just got home. I left my place around 3pm in the afternoon to go and work for a bit at Båtsmans, Hyper Island. For a bit….and now nine hours later I’m home. Crazy. But I’ve done tones of work.
I’m now the producer of the Promotion team (again) working with our class project. Tomorrow we’ll have an update session with the whole class so I’ve put together a Keynote for this presentation. Information, and budget…fun, fun, fun. I also finalized an important list and handed if to Alexander for the next step.
Another thing that I’m working on is a blog design for a friend of my sister. I’ll post it here when I’m done. Which I should be in a few days.

Today we had our second Basic Group Meeting at Hyper Island. This is the meeting when the class is divided in three so that only 13 people talking about whatever related to Hyper they want. Kinda nice. We had the first meeting last year and then we talked about specialization and other thing with Sofie A. This time we talked about the class project, what’s happening next fall and stuff like that.
Later today at 2pm the class is having a class meeting where also is going to talk about the class project, how it is going and how to find some more motivation for it.
We also have a board meeting today. A day full of meetings. The board meeting is also regarding to the class project. A lot of things happening. I’m very excited….are you?

Long day today. We met up at 9am and didn’t leave until 8pm, and we are still not done for the day. I love it.
This morning Daniel and I started with the brief we got yesterday while Axel and Rasmus continued/finished up some work for their current client. We sat down at 350, while Rasmus and Axel sat on the 14th floor (333). Rasmus came down to us during lunch and we had a check-in about what we thought about the brief and what we had talked about.
We were also told that there would be a meeting in the afternoon about a new brief. This brief was for another client and the job was a banner ad for two products. So we split up in pairs for 20 minutes, and then all four of us talked about all the ideas we had. Then we did the same thing again. At the follow-up meeting six of the ideas (three for each product) were successful.
For tomorrow three creatives are drawing sketches for our ideas, Daniel and I are writing the frame description and Axel will write the call-outs. So it will be fun to see them all come together in the morning.
